Cooking Instructions

Preheat the grill to medium-high (375°F to 400°F) and brush the grates with oil; cook seasoned pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side, flipping halfway, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Alternatively, preheat the broiler for 10 minutes and position the rack 6 inches from the heat; use a broiler pan to broil pork chops for 6-8 minutes per side, flipping halfway, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Adjust cooking times for desired browning.

Storage

Promptly refrigerate or freeze upon receiving.

Refrigerate: Store pork chops in their original packaging below 40°F (4°C). Use or freeze within 1-2 days.

Freeze: Label packages with the date of freezing. Keep the freezer at 0°F (-18°C) or below. For the best results, limit freezing pork chops to 4-6 months. Thaw pork chops fully in the refrigerator before cooking.

  • Where does the name Iowa Chop come from?

Iowa pork chops are thick, juicy cuts of pork, typically from the loin, known for their superior flavor and tenderness, often associated with high-quality pork production in Iowa.

  • How should I season my Iowa Pork Chops?

We recommend simply seasoning with salt and pepper to highlight the pork's natural flavor. Let the seasoned meat sit for at least 30 minutes before grilling to allow the seasoning to penetrate.

Hawkeye payback

I was the recipient of Hawkeye football tix, seats on the 50 yard line last year vs Rutgers ('23) by long time friend. As thanks, I sent him 8 of your Iowa Chops, already knowing they were touchdowns. He is long time Iowan too and a guy that is hard to buy for. I told him since Floyd of Rosedale stuck in Minny for a year, I thought he'd be missing some pork! His words "..I've been doin up those Iowa Chops you sent us! I'm not kidding you, they might be the best I've EVER had and that's sayin' a lot"! Just wanted to say "Thanks Amana M & S.!"
