Shipping

Our fully cooked smoked hams ship without the need for additional cooling or packaging. However, during hotter weather, we may use insulated bags, gel packs, or coolers to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Hams ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Orders received after midnight on Tuesday will be shipped the following week.

Cooking Instructions

Amana ham is fully cooked and just needs reheating to release its natural juices for optimal flavor and tenderness. If the ham is frozen, thaw it in the refrigerator. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Remove the packaging and place the ham on a rack in a shallow pan or roaster with a small amount of water. Cover with foil or a lid. Bake for approximately 12-14 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F. Remove the foil three-quarters through the cooking time to allow browning. Basting with its juices during the warming process is recommended.

Storage

Promptly refrigerate or freeze upon receiving.

Refrigerate: Stored in its original packaging, smoked ham retains its best quality for 2-3 weeks. Once opened, use ham within 5-7 days, wrap the ham tightly in plastic wrap, or store it in an airtight container.

Freeze: To freeze a whole smoked ham leave it in its original packaging or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, followed by aluminum foil, or place it in a heavy-duty freezer bag. Limit freezing to 4-6 months for the best flavor and texture. To thaw plan for 2-3 days in the refrigerator for Bone-in hams and 1-2 days for boneless hams before you heat or serve.

Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume them within 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze leftovers in airtight containers or freezer bags. Use within 1-2 months for the best quality.

  • What is the difference between a bone-in and boneless ham?

Bone-in hams offer an impressive presentation with a natural texture and richer flavor, but they can be challenging to cook and carve. Boneless hams have a milder flavor and are easier to cook and slice, with a more uniform shape and texture.

  • Do I need to glaze boneless ham?

Glazing is optional but can add extra flavor. Common glaze ingredients include honey, brown sugar, and fruit preserves.

  • Can I eat boneless smoked ham cold?

Yes, boneless smoked ham is fully cooked and can be eaten cold straight from the package.
