Shipping

Our fully cooked smoked hams ship without the need for additional cooling or packaging. However, during hotter weather, we may use insulated bags, gel packs, or coolers to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Hams ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Orders received after midnight on Tuesday will be shipped the following week.

Cooking Instructions

Amana Hams are fully cooked and ready to eat. To serve warm, follow these steps: If the ham is frozen, thaw it in the refrigerator. Remove the packaging and place the ham on a rack in a shallow pan or roaster with a small amount of water. Cover with foil or a lid. Place in a preheated 325°F oven and bake for approximately 12-14 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F. You may baste the ham with the liquid from the pan during the heating process. Remove the foil three-quarters of the way through the cooking time to allow for browning.

Storage

Promptly refrigerate or freeze upon receiving.

Refrigerate: Stored in its original packaging, smoked ham retains its best quality for 2-3 weeks. Once opened, use ham within 5-7 days, wrap the ham tightly in plastic wrap, or store it in an airtight container.

Freeze: To freeze a whole smoked ham leave it in its original packaging or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, followed by aluminum foil, or place it in a heavy-duty freezer bag. Limit freezing to 4-6 months for the best flavor and texture. To thaw plan for 2-3 days in the refrigerator for Bone-in hams and 1-2 days for boneless hams before you heat or serve.

Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume them within 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze leftovers in airtight containers or freezer bags. Use within 1-2 months for the best quality.

  • What is the difference between bone-in and boneless ham?

Bone-in hams offer an impressive presentation with a natural texture and richer flavor, but they can be challenging to cook and carve. Boneless hams have a milder flavor and are easier to cook and slice, with a more uniform shape and texture.

  • How do I carve a bone-in smoked ham?

To carve a bone-in smoked ham, place it on a cutting board with the bone facing up. Cut slices parallel to the bone, then turn the ham and cut along the bone to release the slices.

  • What’s the secret to achieving such flavorful bone-in hams that Amana is known for?

Not much to hide around here, we have dialed-in the basics over all these years! Amana hams are brined in salt water with clove and sugar for enhanced flavor, moisture, and tenderness, then smoked with hickory wood chips to preserve and lock in the taste.

Best ham ever. Whenever this is served - lots of compliments! The taste/flavor is stand alone. No need to add anything to it.

Thank you.

Easy Easter Ham

Easter was so easy. Placed an order, the ham showed up UPS and was cold. I kept it in the fridge until ready to use and had a perfect ham. I ordered the 12-14 lb. We had plenty for 10 with extra to send home with guests. It was delicious!
