Cooking Instructions

Our Smoked Turkeys are fully cooked and ready to eat. While best served at room temperature, they can also be reheated and still taste delicious.

To serve warm: Thaw in the refrigerator if frozen, remove packaging, and place the turkey on a rack in a pan with a little water. Cover with foil, bake at 325°F for 12 minutes per pound until 135°F internally, basting occasionally; uncover three-quarters through for browning, and let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Storage

Refrigerate: Unopened and stored in its original packaging, smoked turkey will retain its best quality for 2-3 weeks. Once opened, use it within 5-7 days, wrap the turkey tightly in plastic wrap, or store it in an airtight container.

Freeze: To freeze a whole smoked turkey leave it in its original packaging or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, followed by aluminum foil, or place it in a heavy-duty freezer bag. For the best flavor and texture, limit freezing to 4-6 months. To thaw plan for 2-3 days in the refrigerator for whole turkeys and 1-2 days for turkey breast before you heat or serve.

Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume them within 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze leftovers in airtight containers or freezer bags. Use within 1-2 months for the best quality.

  • How is smoked turkey different from roasted turkey?

Smoked turkey is cooked using smoke, which gives it a distinct smoky flavor, while roasted turkey is cooked in an oven. Smoking typically results in a more moist and flavorful turkey.

  • Is smoked turkey easy to prepare and serve?

Smoked turkey requires little to no effort, tastes delicious, and can be enjoyed hot or cold. Most importantly, the low-maintenance prep schedule frees up oven space for more pie!

  • What is the best sandwich for leftover smoked turkey?

Smoked Turkey BLT! Use thinly sliced leftover smoked turkey, 4 slices of Amana Maple Smoked Bacon, 2 slices of smoked cheddar cheese, toasted bread, fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and mayonnaise.

Wonderful!

As the host of our annual Thanksgivings I normally have two turkeys; one traditional and one smoked. For the last 8 years I have consistently ordered from another company but due to the turkey shortage of 2022, they could not deliver. That's said, I went searching and came across Amana and the consistent reviews about their whole smoked turkey. So I bought one and they did not disappoint! The turkey arrived on time and was delicious! Several guests asked for the name of the smokehouse that I ordered my turkey from, which I happily shared. I will be purchasing from Amana again.

The best smoked turkey on Long Island

Was thrilled to have an Amana smoked turkey grace our Thanksgiving table -- it was the best one served on Long Island, we bet! After living in Iowa for years and driving over to get one, it was a treat having one come to our New York doorstep.
